Use up those beautiful scraps in your stash you can’t part with. In this introductory course, students will learn the basics of quilting while creating a lap or baby quilt. Classes will cover, fabric types, colour schemes, piecing, pressing, quilting stitches and binding. This is a beginner course for those who have always wanted to learn about quilting but weren’t sure where to start.
- Intermediate sewing ability or Sewing Basics II.
- This class will not cover basic sewing machine operation (such as threading a needle, how to pivot corner, reverse stitching, etc.)
- Students should be able to do these without assistance.
- You will need to do up to 2 hours of hours per week of homework
The following will be provided during the class
-cutting table, rulers
Note: Students will need to provide their own sewing machines and 45 mm rotary cutter to use during the course.

Written notice of cancellation may be processed with a full refund (minus a 10% admin fee) two weeks prior to the course starting. Cancellations received 1 week prior to the course are eligible for a 50% refund unless there is a wait list for the course. Cancellations within the final week prior to the course are non-refundable unless there is a wait list for the course and the course can be run with full attendance.
