Learn how to properly use your serger. People say that sergers are like basement treadmills - used to hang clothing on! Take your serger out of storage and learn how to properly thread it and use it to finish your projects.
Sewing Machine expert, Yasmin Karimjee of Ottawa Sewing Center, will show you when to use 3 or 4 threads, learn how to do a rolled hem for a clean finish, and work on a small project to use the skills that you have developed.
Note that students should bring a functional machine to class in order to be able to use their machines in class. If the machines have significant issues, please contact Yasmin ahead of time for servicing. We have four classroom machines for students to use, but prefer that you learn to use your own machine so that you'll know what to do when you get home!
