Take your beginner sewing skills to the next level. In this course, learn from a seasoned professional the best techniques for making your garments professional and polished.
You will learn:
- About various sewing notions
- Types of sewing threads
- How to properly press garments
- How to use interfacing
- How to choose the correct pattern size and follow pattern instructions
- How to sew a waistband, centred zipper, edge stitches
- And much more!
Students will need a domestic sewing machine, iron, and basic sewing kit at home to practice and complete homework (approximately 20 hours). EcoEquitable will supply the sewing machine during class.
Prerequisites: some sewing experience

Written notice of cancellation may be processed with a full refund (minus a 10% admin fee) two weeks prior to the course starting. Cancellations received 1 week prior to the course are eligible for a 50% refund unless there is a wait list for the course. Cancellations within the final week prior to the course are non-refundable unless there is a wait list for the course and the course can be run with full attendance.
