Can’t sew? We can fix that. Join us for our comprehensive beginner course! Learn how to sew while exploring the world of fabric, commercial patterns, pattern alterations, and sewing techniques.
You will leave the class with a garment made by you and fit to your measurements.
You will learn to:
- Understand the different parts of, and operate a sewing machine
- Properly press and iron garments for sewing
- Take measurements
- Work with commercial patterns, and pick the right pattern size for you
- Select the right fabric for your project
- Construct a basic garment with an elastic waistband
Students will need a domestic sewing machine, iron, and basic sewing kit at home to practice and complete their garments
EcoEquitable will supply the sewing machine during class as well as fabric when possible.
