In this class we take it up a notch a professional upholsterer will be there to help you recover your slip seat chair and your side chair. His years of experience will be invaluable in the successful completion of your projects.
In this class you will be taught how to:
- Cover curves and corners using a pneumatic staple gun
- Tear back the fabric of your existing chair
- Choose the right fabric for your project
- Use cardboard tack strip and a metal tac strip
- How to apply nail head trim
Students will need a domestic sewing machine, iron, and basic sewing kit at home to practice and complete their garments
EcoEquitable will supply the sewing machine during class as well as fabric when possible.
Homework will consist of about 3 hours per class
Prerequisite: Intermediate sewing ability
Beginner sewing ability: very little knowledge of sewing
Intermediate sewing ability: Has some sewing knowledge able to successfully sew a garment following a pattern
Advanced sewing ability: Has been sewing for some time is able to follow a sewing pattern and also make fitting modifications to a pattern as well as garment design changes to patterns.

Written notice of cancellation may be processed with a full refund (minus a 10% admin fee) two weeks prior to the course starting. Cancellations received 1 week prior to the course are eligible for a 50% refund unless there is a wait list for the course. Cancellations within the final week prior to the course are non-refundable unless there is a wait list for the course and the course can be run with full attendance.
